My associates and I are about to launch to coolest car site in the world. I recently had an idea for a more simple website design. And though I only have the time to show you the home page, I would like to know what people think. Do you prefer the original bold images, full color site? Or do you prefer the more minimalist approach? The new, more minimalist concept is not even close to looking like craigslist, but I think its less distracting, more obvious what is going on.

Somewhere in between. The old has a huge header image that distracts from site activities but the new has too much activity, or too many little boxes ( images ).
After looking at them again, I think you are right. I think the huge header does distract on the old one, and the little boxes distract on the new one. I’ll tinker some more later. I just had the idea in my head so I had to put it on paper…or photoshop.
